Data responsibility is a sub form of sustainability that identifies and assesses the impacts of data collection and utilisation on individuals, organisations, and society. Organisations must ensure that their use of data and AI is transparent, trust-building, and value-adding for both stakeholders and customers.

TIEKE’s training provides a cross-cutting perspective and a shared language, making discussions about data and AI usage more understandable for all parties in an organisation.

In TIEKE’s training you will learn to understand the ethical opportunities and risks of data utilization, identify key permissions and legislation related to data, promote transparency for customers and stakeholders, and plan concrete actions to embed data responsibility into everyday operations. You will also learn how your role can influence responsible data use. Additionally, you will explore ethical challenges and solutions in data utilization, particularly using the Open Data Institute’s Data Ethics Canvas. The training includes case examples from Finland and around the world.

The training is aimed at professionals working with data, AI, sustainability, or IT management. It is suitable for organisations of all sizes in both the private and public sectors.

Data Protection Officer –You will learn how to expand legal requirements into broader data ethics principles and identify ethical risks that are not yet clearly regulated.

IT Specialist – You will understand how your organisation’s information systems can better serve people and how ethical data management streamlines the entire organisation’s operations.

AI Developer – You will learn to communicate the ethical impacts of AI solutions to stakeholders and develop AI with greater transparency.

Data Analyst and Expert – You will gain tools to communicate the possibilities and limitations of data within your organisation and understand how different parties may interpret data in different ways.

Sustainability Specialist – You will see how data ethics connects to environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and governance transparency as well as understand how responsibility can be demonstrated through data.

Comply with data legislation – The training helps to identify risks that are essential for complying with all data regulations. According to the European union’s Artificial Intelligence Act, starting February 2, 2025, all organisations must ensure their staff receive training on AI benefits and risks. TIEKE’s data responsibility training covers fundamentals on AI ethics, thereby supporting the complying with this requirement.
