Data responsibility training

Data responsibility training

Data responsibility training equips your organisation with the skills and frameworks needed to use data and AI ethically and effectively. Through interactive sessions and practical tools, you will learn how to develop data responsibility within your organisation.

Data responsibility is a sub form of sustainability that identifies and assesses the impacts of data collection and utilisation on individuals, organisations, and society. Organisations must ensure that their use of data and AI is transparent, trust-building, and value-adding for both stakeholders and customers.

Key questions in data responsibility include:

  • How and why do we use data and AI?
  • Does our staff have sufficient data and AI literacy to operate in a controlled manner and in compliance with, for example, European union’s AI Act?
  • Do users understand how their data is processed?
  • Is data usage aligned with the organisation’s values?

Benefits of data responsibility training

In many organisations, questions related to data responsibility are considered in silos from different work roles, which can obscure the overall picture of data usage. TIEKE’s training provides a cross-cutting perspective and a shared language, making discussions about data and AI usage more understandable for all parties in an organisation.

In TIEKE’s training you will learn to understand the ethical opportunities and risks of data utilization, identify key permissions and legislation related to data, promote transparency for customers and stakeholders, and plan concrete actions to embed data responsibility into everyday operations. You will also learn how your role can influence responsible data use. Additionally, you will explore ethical challenges and solutions in data utilization, particularly using the Open Data Institute’s Data Ethics Canvas. The training includes case examples from Finland and around the world.

The training is aimed at professionals working with data, AI, sustainability, or IT management. It is suitable for organisations of all sizes in both the private and public sectors.

Key benefits for you

Data Protection Officer –You will learn how to expand legal requirements into broader data ethics principles and identify ethical risks that are not yet clearly regulated.

IT Specialist – You will understand how your organisation’s information systems can better serve people and how ethical data management streamlines the entire organisation’s operations.

AI Developer – You will learn to communicate the ethical impacts of AI solutions to stakeholders and develop AI with greater transparency.

Data Analyst and Expert – You will gain tools to communicate the possibilities and limitations of data within your organisation and understand how different parties may interpret data in different ways.

Why should you invest in your organisation’s data responsibility?

Comply with data legislation – The training helps to identify risks that are essential for complying with all data regulations. According to the European union’s Artificial Intelligence Act, starting February 2, 2025, all organisations must ensure their staff receive training on AI benefits and risks. TIEKE’s data responsibility training covers fundamentals on AI ethics, thereby supporting the complying with this requirement.

Improve organisational competitiveness – Using data ethically and openly communicating about it help to build trust among customers and stakeholders, which is the cornerstone of business.

Clarify goals and reduce risks – A clear data strategy explains the value created by data as well as any potential risks related to data usage, making operations more consistent internally and externally.

Embed data responsibility into company culture – The training provides practical tools to integrate data responsibility into everyday organisational practices.
