Open Badges – A digital approach to micro-credentials

In today’s dynamic work and educational environments, it’s crucial to make all skills and competencies visible. Traditional certificates often fail to capture the full range of a person’s abilities, especially those acquired through professional experiences, hobbies, or volunteer work. Open Badges offer a solution to this challenge. In the Digi Teachers project, Open Badges were used to assess and recognize teachers’ competencies, highlighting their potential to promote continuous learning and professional development.

Good examples of skills recognition models and tools include badges, data spaces and a digital compass.
