More information about the GDPR4CHLDRN initial survey

GDPR4CHLDRN is a project that focuses on children and young people’s data protection. The project is carried out by the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman and TIEKE Finnish Information Society Development Centre and funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme.

The purpose of the initial survey for the GDPR4CHLDRN project is to find out about your data protection knowledge and your attitudes towards processing of personal data. We will collate the results of the survey into a summary, from which individual responses cannot be identified. We will use the results of the survey to plan for events and materials for the project. We will also use the summary of the results on reporting on the GDPR4CHLDRN project to the funder of the project. The summary reports will be stored for five years from the end of the project, as required by the project funder.

We ask, as part of the initial survey, information about the target group to which you belong. In addition, we ask about your gender, because the project funder requires that we monitor that gender equality is also accomplished during the project. We recommend that you do not write any personal data or any other information from which you can be identified in the open text areas of the survey. You should particularly avoid adding information that is classified as special category data, or information that is to be kept private, in the open text areas. Open text areas are not used in the children and young people’s survey.

We use the Webropol survey tool for the survey. When completing a survey, Webropol collects information on cookies (so called session cookies), which is a technical essential cookie that is required when responding to the survey. A cookie is a small text filet that the browser saves on your device, for example, a phone or computer. The cookie will be removed from your device at the latest when you close the browser. That is why we recommend that you close the browser after completing the survey. Subcontractors of Webropol, Nebula Oy and Qumio Oy do not collect cookie information when the survey is being used. Webropol saves the IP address of those who have responded to the survey for 14 days. No one else than Webropol has access to this information, and the information is not disclosed, not even to the party who has created the survey. Webropol does not transfer information it processes outside of the EU or EEA.
